Legoville, KY

While we were on our Riverboat Ride (2 blogs ago), we saw a boat yard where various types of boats were manufactured. In fact, several boats instrumental in World War II were made there. Upon seeing this, Braden thought it would be good if we tried to re-create this out of legos. The next weekend we spent a large chunk of time working together and here's what we came up with...

SBTS Chapel

Two weeks ago, I went to chapel with my dad. The preacher, David Platt, was talking about missions. He said that people across the ocean and here in America need to know about God. He also said that some people go to hell because they have not heard about Jesus. That is why we need to tell them about him.

He also said that when we go outside of the church it is like going ouside a camp. Inside the church is clean and safe, but outside the church is dirty and dangerous. When we go outside the camp we are on a mission to tell people about Jesus.

Pastor Platt told us that Jesus spent most of his time outside of the camp. We should do the same. We need some time in the camp, but we really need to be outside because that is where all the people who don't know Jesus live.

Riverboat Ride

We took a riverboat ride on the Ohio River. The pictures pretty much tell the whole story...

Braden Turns 9!!!

Braden's 9th birthday is today! We can't believe it...but Braden sure can. He's ready for #10 already. We had a special lunch for him and opened a few presents before we took him and KaraBeth to the zoo. As you can see, we had a great time and the weather was just right for the occasion:

Three monkeys.

Braden Sparrow.

Mom the Bird Lady. Moments later she asked:
"What's that wet feeling on my right shoulder?"

KaraBeth was a little timid.

KaraBeth's favorite moment.

Braden was excited to receive the birthday emails, letters and phone calls. It truly brightened an already bright day for him!

Labor Day Baseball

Today, Dad and I went to the Louisville Bats game. They played the Indianapolis Indians and beat them 8-2. It was a very exciting game and I got a squishy baseball that dad caught when they threw it up into the stands. I also got a snow cone, popcorn, and a hotdog.

This was the best game we've been to because the Bats won. We also had better seats and could see the bridges going over the Ohio River and airplanes flying over on their way to the airport. There were several stolen bases, home runs and strikeouts. It was the best!

Pee Wee Reese statue in front of stadium.

We had great seats!

The umpire was so cool when he called strikes!

Here's one of my favorite players...Short Stop Paul Janish

The last out of the game...and the season.

The players celebrated after winning their last game of the season.

After the game, I got to run the bases on the field!

Here is a video of Braden running the bases after the game. He is wearing an orange shirt and is seen coming to third base and around to home plate (I'll get more clear footage next time!). Click on the play arrow to view.
