Fishing Trip

Braden: When dad took us fishing last week, I did not even know that morning that we were going! It was a great surpise and I actually caught fish! As you can see from the pictures, it was raining most of the time, but it was still really fun. Addie did not think it was fun being out in the rain at all. She kept whimpering and hiding under my dad's legs. I want to go fishing again because I know that there are fish to be caught and it is really fun.

KaraBeth: I caught my first fish ever! My daddy helped me bring him in. I also got to walk on a trail that took us to the spot where we fished. The first thing I wanted to do when we got there was play around in the woods. I got to wear Braden's cowboy boots.

This is when we first arrived. I wasn't sure we were
going to be able to fish with the rain falling.

Even though it was raining, we went ahead and tried.

Here is the first fish I caught! I ended up catching three.

Kara Beth didn't seem to care about the rain at all.

KaraBeth's first fish! She didn't know what to think at first.

Animal Planet!

We went to the Falls of the Ohio State Park last weekend. We found a creek that drained into the Ohio River and we followed it all the way to its end. As we got near the River, we heard a splash in the water, but we didn't know what it was. Then, we heard another splash and this time we saw some bubbles under the water. We followed them to see what it was when it came up for air. It took a long time, but finally it came up and it was. . . a beaver!

We threw rocks near it to make it swim again and it went back under water. We followed the air bubbles again, but we lost track this time. Then, dad noticed Addie looking at something in the water. We looked at what she was looking at and it was the beaver again. This time, he was swimming down the creek toward us! We stood and watched as he went to his hole and got out of the water! Here are the pictures we got:

Here's the beaver swimming up to his hole.

At first, Addie was a little suspicious. Then, she was just curious.

Here the beaver is leaving and going into his hole.

Here is the mound that the beavers live in. There is an underwater entrance that we saw another beaver swim into (because we saw his air bubbles go to it).

Fore!!!

This fall I started to learn how to play golf. I like to play golf because I get to spend time with my dad and it is fun. There is a golf course here in Louisville called Cherokee Golf Club. Hole #7 is really hard and we call it "The Beast." The first time we played it, we nearly died. But this time, we beat it! There's no telling what will happen the next time we play!

Here's my swing so far...

It just so happens that this was my best shot all day!
I'm glad my dad was taking pictures on this one!
