Day at the Park

Here are some pictures of our day at the park and the kids playing in the creek...

Kara Beth discovered "millions of snails on the rocks underwater!"

Braden decided this is where they filmed the Last of the Mohicans.

This is a natural spring running out of this clift that feeds into the creek below.

Hot Days & Cool Fun!

We are surprised at how hot it has been. The locals tell us that these are very abnormal and it is normally high 80's to very low 90's in the hottest part of the summer. We hope their right about normal because we have seen 101 degrees...which make us miss Texas a little bit less!

To beat this heat, we treated Braden and KaraBeth to a water park near downtown right along the Ohio River. Best part (for Dad)...free and open to the public! Best part for Braden and KaraBeth...

Braden:

"I liked it because my dad surprised us by taking us to this place. We didn't even know where we were going when we got in the car...but he did. I liked it because we got totally soaking wet and we were not hot. We also got to eat snow cones before we left. My favorite part was when dad got in the water with us and played monster chase with us."

KaraBeth:

"Um, the big play ground equipment, the big humongous one. Um, the water and the, um, the water poles that shot water out all over us and made us totally wet. I also liked the canoe that you can sit in and the sand box that we could play in. I also like it when daddy chased us through the water fountains."

Take a look...

Road Trip

Two weeks after settling in to our new home, the first road-trip we took was to Cincinnati. There were two goals to this trip:

Creation Museum

We spent the afternoon at the Creation Museum. In short, this museum presents creation from a biblical perspective and does an effective job of refuting Darwinism and the concept of evolution. The kids most enjoyed the Noah's Ark exibit. It was very thorough and really caused you to think of how dreadful that day really was for those outside the boat!

Baseball!!!

From there, we went to The Great American Ballpark to watch the Cincinnati Reds play the Milwaukee Brewers. This is a great stadium overlooking the Ohio River as well as a really bad baseball team! The good news is...Braden and Edward only have to drive 90 miles to take in a baseball game every now and then. Here are some pictures:
